The story of Kaunas
Strategically located at the confluence of the Neris and Nemunas rivers, Kaunas is a mesmerizing city with ancient landmarks, a myriad of restaurants and other local businesses and interesting museums to visit. Did you know Kaunas was once Lithuania's capital? Yes, during the period between the two wars (considered the golden age of the city), Kaunas was the hub of the city. Over the decades, Kaunas has undergone a great transformation, although it has preserved its ancient beauty. Nowadays, it is also famous for the city's basketball team, the Zalgiris Kaunas.
The mysterious castle
One of the most important points of interest is certainly the Medieval Castle, a historic building dating from the fourteenth century built in Gothic style.
There are many legends about the castle and many even claim that this building is infested with ghosts. Inspired by these stories is the TV series by Netflix entitled The Haunting of Hill House. Well, even if the ghost story is just fantasy, the castle is still a place of great historical interest and is visited by thousands of tourists every year.
